German Longhair

The German Longhair is called the German Staande Langhaar (DSL) in the Netherlands. Germany is the country of origin of this breed. The German sister association has difficulty with the designation "German Staande Langhaar. According to the Germans, this designation emphasizes the front standing, while the Langhaar is an all-roud hunting dog and not just a front standing dog.

The association "German Langhaar Club" sought to connect with the original name ("Deutsch Langhaar") of the dog with its naming and translated it into Dutch.

DSL as a hunting use dog

The Longhair (DSL) is versatile in its disposition. The dog is willing, fast and has great stamina. Furthermore, the dog is characterized by its intelligence, loyalty, eagerness to learn and affection. Because of all these characteristics, the Longhair is very popular as a hunting utility dog. But besides hunting use dog, it is also a loyal companion and hunting companion.

Appearance of the Longhair
